----side note on JFK's piano: An interested reader (C. Davis) did some research on JFK's Ivers & Pond since she too has a piano of this make. It was discovered that Kennedy's piano was a gift from his mother, Rose, who received the piano as a wedding gift from her uncles. Wanting to keep the piano in the family she gave the piano to JFK. Later when his birthplace was converted to a museum the piano was moved there to be put on display. Thanks to C. Davis for this great information.
